Margarita island was the place where I spent my first couple of months kiting – practising for my first World Cup competition – two years ago (winter 2002\/03). I was excited coming back to see what has changed and to meet old friends again. The locals all know me as a pretty crazy chick, who came here all on her own, just managing going upwind but obsessed with the idea of competing in the World Cup. <\/p>\n
Yeah, El Yaque was the place where I really learnt … where I did my first jumps, where I crashed my first (brand new) kite, a North Rhino 2. For the ones who know the Rhino 2 and especially the ones who also know El Yaque conditions: well, you can imagine how easy it must have been learning here \ud83d\ude09 ..!? but I did it and came back this year for some more training in anticipation of the World Cup on Coche island, the island just opposite Margarita. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
