{"id":7837,"date":"2010-08-30T15:20:32","date_gmt":"2010-08-30T13:20:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kitegabi.com\/en\/?p=7837"},"modified":"2011-03-01T11:23:51","modified_gmt":"2011-03-01T09:23:51","slug":"kenia-kitesurfing-4-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.kitegabi.com\/en\/portfolio\/publications\/travel-stories\/kenia-kitesurfing-4-charity\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenia: Kitesurfing 4 Charity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What could be more beautiful than raising money for charity through ones greatest passion \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 !!<\/p>\n<p>I felt really really privileged when I got invited to the <strong>Prosurf Extreme Kitesurf Charity Event<\/strong>, that took place at <strong>beautiful Nyali beach in Mombasa, Kenya, from 11.02.-15.02.2010.<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<a title=\"Check out Prosurf Extreme Watersports on the web!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.prosurfkenya.com\/\">Organized by Prosurf Extreme Watersports, <\/a>the event\u2019s schedule was action packed:<br \/>\nThe competition that has been running for 5 years and boasts a highly innovative format that made it to me THE most fun comp that I&#8217;ve  most probably ever been to. <strong>Bram Dierick, Manager of the Prosurf Extreme  Watersports Centre\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 a  fully equipped North Centre with all the  latest toys and an extremely  helpful, knowleagable team &#8211;<\/strong> did a  phantastic job by putting it all together:\u00a0 a sick slider and a kicker  were built, we jumped over fire-rafts at night, a downwind race, big  air, bikini-contest, North-demo day&#8230; oh man, sooo much fun!!<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, JOY and all that <a title=\"Check out Christian Black's website!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.christianblack.com\/\">photographed by one of the greatest action-sports photographers in the world: Christian Black from the UK !<\/a> It doesn&#8217;t come as a surprise that with the support of a dedicated team like at that event, Christian Black and myself, scored <strong>THE SICKEST PHOTO<\/strong>, which made it onto the <strong>COVER of the 10-Years Anniversary issue of Kiteboarding.eu Magazine,<\/strong> the leading German mag; \u00a0 Yes, <a title=\"Check out the Cover-Shot &quot;Gabi on Fire&quot; !\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kitegabi.com\/en\/portfolio\/publications\/various\/covershot-kitegabi-on-fire\/\"><strong>&#8220;Kitegabi on Fire&#8221;,<\/strong> when I jumped at night over a burning raft !<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All the money raised during the event went to 2 organisations: <a title=\"Check out M.E.A.K. on the web!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.meak.org\/\">M.E.A.K. &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0 Medical and Educational Aid to Kenya<\/a> and the <a title=\"Check out the ICRH on the web!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.icrh.org\/\">I.C.R.H., the International Centre for Reproductive Health.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Liquid Force team-rider Chris Burke took the first place in the Male-Pro category and I was super stoked about the first in the Female-Pro division.
