Cape verde update

….when things go too well, bad luck is usually just around the corner…

yep, that’s how I feel with my trip to sal. super stoked being back here, then awesome start of the trip with the carnival as well as the pwa windsurf-wave-worldcup, p e r f e c t conditions for the first 2 weeks, my virgin ride @ world’in’famous wavespot ponta preta, whale-sigthing at an early morning stroll along the beach… P E R F E C T times … until some desert-pirates stole my beloved (and here on windy sal, super important) oakley windbreaker, in it: my mobile phone with all my contacts, my favorite oakley shades, $$$, oakley hooded sweater, and and and…

luckily nothing of my equipment and I also still have my computer although I’m even getting paranoid putting that in words down here … desert pirate like computers but hopefully don’t check the internet or my website updates … that they also fancy my beauuutiful oakley stuff, well I can’t blame them but c’mon u bloody pirates, how about all my worldwide contacts, that really SUCKS!!

yeah and then on top of everything: this morning it was raining here!!!? this happens like o n c e a year. with the weired climate is the wind gone as well as the swell… well, I have another 2 weeks, the forcast for the rest of the week looks BAD but I’m optimistic that the unlucky lifepatch is over soon and that I will once again be privileged to ride this unique, simply perfect wave.

until soon! yours gabi

P.S.:  check out the article that I wrote after this trip for Kiteboarding.de, titled ‘Frisch verliebt’ (Engl.translation: ‘Newly in love’) as well as my ‘Spot Guide to Sal’ in the German edition of Stance Magazine and in Russian in Wave Magazine!
