Leavin’ Lancelin…

Leavin’ Lancelin…

Already up really early, we pack up our 200kg and stack everything in and onto our beloved Ford Falcon. Departure, destination: Geralton, about 400km north of Lancelin.

Along the way we stop at the ’Numbung National Park’, home to the ’Pinnacles Desert’. Rising mysteriously from the bright dune sands are thousand limestone pillars, up to 4 metres tall, a landscape in eerie contrast to the surroundingf heath. The raw material for the limestone of the pinnancles came from sea shells in an earlier epcoh rich in marine life. These shells were broken down into lime-rich sands which were carried inland by wind to form high, mobile dunes.
