Pyramids in Mexico, a kitepro 3500m up in the air !?

Ok, THE most perfect ending to an absolute DREAM-trip!! A Mexican friend of mine, Jorge, invited me over to his house and his parent’s ‘Rancho’ (=Ranch) respectively in the mountains, close to Chapala to spend my last days there before going back to Europe after almost 11 weeks in Central America.

It took me a bit to decide whether I should leave Bucerias, the small town with all its super lovely people, that grew some much into my heart over the past few weeks but in the end I said ‘Yes’ and dudes, I definitely didn’t regrett it!!!

Jorge, who invited me, is quite a crazy guy. 2 Years ago, he broke 7 vertebrae in a kite accident. Doctors told him, he would never walk again … well, by now Jorge isn’t only walking, no, he’s also kiting, wakeboarding, paragliding, and and and !!

So, we left Bucerias and drove to Chapala in the mountains to his parents ‘Ranch’ as he called it … I did not have a clue about what I had to expect….

As it turned out, his father is the President of the Red Cross of that region in Mexico and was previously one of the best surgeons in the country. Obvisouly the Red Cross pays very well in Mexico, cause that ‘Ranch’ that Jorge was telling me about, certainly exceeded my expectations by FAAAAR…

There were 9 horses, pyramids, hot spring whirlpools and and and ….

To top it all of: Jorge’s sister, Karina, is married to the double Vize-Worldchamp in Paragliding, Peter Brinkeby from Norway and as a last unforgettable memory, he did a tandem-fly with me !! But not just any normal one .. no, we used the local thermic to go up to 3.500m (!!!) … ahhhh, I have to admit, that was rather fu#$% damn high !! Yeah, the thermic wouldn’t let us ‘fly down’ so we had to make some maneouvres (!!) and given Peter’s level, the moves where top-notch hardcore freestyle!! Spirals, rotating pendulums etc etc … WOW, what an unforgettable experience that was!!! Thanx Jorge for inviting me, thanx Peter for these incredible 45 minutes !!!
